Grenada is an island in the Lesser Antilles. It is the largest island of Grenada, an island nation in the Caribbean Sea whose capital is St. George's.
Grenada measures 34 km from north to south and 12 km from east to west. It has an area of 311 km².
Located in the southern part of the state of Grenada, it is of volcanic origin. Mount St. Catherine, a former volcano, is the island’s highest point, at 839 meters.
The island’s volcanic nature also shapes its hydrography, with two of its largest lakes situated in ancient craters: Lake Antoine and Grand Lake, which is 10 meters deep.
Agriculture in Grenada is diverse, encompassing tea, coffee, cocoa, cotton, spices, and sugar. Notably, the island produces one-third of the world’s nutmeg.
