   The Cayman Islands are located in the western part of the Caribbean Sea. They are not part of the Greater Antilles, although they are situated near them.

The archipelago consists of three islands: Grand Cayman, Little Cayman, and Cayman Brac, with respective areas of 197 km², 26 km², and 36 km². The administrative capital, George Town, is located on the west coast of Grand Cayman. The island of Cayman Brac lies 193 km west-southwest of San Miguel, on the southern coast of Cuba, and 212 km northwest of Orange Bay, Jamaica.

English is the official language of the Cayman Islands and was the primary language spoken at home in 2010 by 90.9% of the islands’ population, or 48,924 people, followed by Spanish by 4.0%, or 2,146 people (though it is spoken by 10–12% of the population), then Filipino by 3.3% (1,786 people), though spoken by about 5% of the population, most of whom are residents with work permits; other languages each account for less than 1%.
